RANDALL C. CONNER, ASA, EA
Consulting Actuary

Randy Conner has over 25 years of actuarial experience working with a variety of retirement plans in both the private and public sectors. Randy began his consulting career at Milliman and Robertson in Omaha. He returned to this area in 1999 to work for Mercer’s Kansas City office before joining Cottonwood. Randy is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and an Enrolled Actuary. His duties include pension valuations, administrative consulting, technical compliance and consulting for defined benefit plans. In addition, he performs actuarial valuations of retiree medical programs to help employers comply with private sector or public sector accounting standards.

Randy graduated from Central Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science.


DANIEL P. NICHOLS, FSA, EA
Senior Actuary

Dan Nichols has over 25 years of actuarial experience, specializing in the design, valuation and administration of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans. Dan is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (1979) and an Enrolled Actuary (1980). He sets quality standards within Cottonwood’s actuarial staff and is responsible for technical compliance within the Retirement Practice.

Before joining The Cottonwood Group, LLC in 2003, Dan was the senior actuary at FBD Consulting, Inc. for over 13 years. His work experience also includes time with the national actuarial consulting firms of Buck Consultants and Milliman & Robertson.

Dan is a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science. degree in Mathematics.
