KATHI NETTLE
Compliance Coordinator

Kathi Nettle has 24 years of experience in employee benefits legal and administrative support. She specializes in various legal aspects and government reporting for defined contribution and defined benefit plans.

Before joining The Cottonwood Group, Kathi was a legal assistant with Mercer.

Kathi has studied under the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist program of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

SUSAN L. JAMIESON
Controller

Susan Jamieson has over 20 years of experience in accounting. She supervises the administrative staff and manages the operations of the office. She is responsible for all daily accounting functions, including payroll and employee benefits, and produces all financial statements.

Before joining The Cottonwood Group, Susan was an Accounting Manager with DeFrain Mayer, Cottonwood’s predecessor. Prior to joining DeFrain Mayer in 1997, she worked with Hospice Associates of America as a Managerial Accountant, Emergency Medical Services, Inc. as a Senior Accountant, and The George Michale Agency, Inc. as an Accountant.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She has also fulfilled most of the computer programming course requirements for an Associates Degree in Data Processing from Johnson County Community College.

WILLIAM J. KUHL
Information Technology Manager

William Kuhl has over 10 years of experience in Information Technology. He has expertise in the development of automated defined benefit administration systems and design of WEB-based portals for retirement plans.

Before joining The Cottonwood Group, LLC, Bill was IT Administrator and Database Manager with DeFrain Mayer, Cottonwood’s predecessor. Prior to joining DeFrain Mayer in 1996, he worked at the Law Firm of Lathrop & Gage, L.C. as Systems Administrator and Database Developer, managing a network of over 200 computers.

Bill is a Novell Certified Netware Administrator, a Microsoft Certified Professional in Network Administration, and has extensive knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Bill holds a Bachelor ofScience and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Kansas.

DONNA GREENLEE
Administrative Assistant

Donna Greenlee has 15 years experience in administrative support. She provides administrative assistance for defined contribution plans.

Before joining The Cottonwood Group, Donna was an administrative assistant with DeFrain Mayer, Cottonwood’s predecessor for 14 years.


ASHLEY D. HAYES
Administrative Assistant

Ashley Hayes is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. Before joining The Cottonwood Group, Ashley worked at Columbia Performing Arts Centre in Columbia, Missouri as an office manager. During her time at the University of Missouri, Ashley worked with The District, Columbia’s Downtown Associations, as a Promotions Intern and Event Coordinator.
